Student Refunds for Dropped Courses/Withdrawals Policy

STUDENT REFUNDS FOR DROPPED COURSES/WITHDRAWALS POLICY

PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to inform students of which fees are refundable upon withdrawing from the University or dropping courses below full-time within the refund period and to provide a student refund schedule for tuition and fees for each term.

SCOPE

This policy applies to all University students, including those on the regional campuses.

POLICY

Students withdrawing from the University or dropping courses below full-time status within the refund period are eligible for a tuition and fee refund in accordance with the University’s fee schedule and refund procedures. Every effort is made to process refunds within 30 calendar days. Refunds for credit balances less than $5 are processed by request only.

PROCEDURE

Procedure development rests with Revenue and Loan Services, Office of Student Life, and Admissions and Records.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR IMPLEMENTATION

The responsibility for implementation of this policy rests with Revenue and loan Services, Office of Student Life, and Admissions and Records. The Controller’s Office, at 293-4002 or P.O. Box 6001, is available to answer questions or provide additional information regarding this policy.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR INTERPRETATION

The responsibility for interpretation of this policy rests with the Controller, West Virginia University.
